Chief Executive Officer

Leanne Elliott-Holmes

Leanne joined the AFNT team in 2009 and with her nursing background has been a good fit for the organisation. Since joining the foundation Leanne has actively developed her knowledge and skills in asthma, its management and spirometry. In 2017 she was awarded the Asthma Australia Spotlight on Asthma Award in recognition for her exceptional service to the community with her development of the Northern Territory Department of Education Asthma Guidelines for schools and in 2019 she was nominated for The Administrators Medal in Primary Health – recognising excellence in Primary Health. Leanne started as a Asthma Educator and over the past 15 years she has worked her way up and now holds the position of CEO.

Office Manager

Jillian Blackman

Jillian joined the AFNT team in 2018 and brings with her an extensive background in administration to help support the AFNT staff and board and is the friendly front face at the AFNT office.

Prior to becoming the office manager she had been involved with the foundation over the years firstly through the swim program with her two kids who have asthma, helping volunteer at events and was also a one time board member which gives her a unique view of how all aspects of the Asthma Foundation NT runs. She loves helping promote the foundation whether through attending community or networking events and she is always willing to help out where needed. She is originally from Victoria but has called the Territory home for the over 15 years.

Respiratory Health Educator

Kirra Christian

Kirra joined the AFNT team in 2019 and has asthma herself so understands the importance of what the foundation does. She is originally from NSW but moved to the territory after visiting and falling in love with the NT and what it has to offer. She managed the Asthma Swim Program while it was running and is actively developing her knowledge and skills in asthma, its management and spirometry and the whole AFNT team were proud of her when she completed her Asthma Educator course through the Alfred Hospital in Victoria. She also delivers asthma education through the program Asthma in Your Mate to kids across the territory and also Asthma Community first aid sessions to various groups and organisations.

Respiratory Health Educator - (RN)

Sharron Hastie

Sharron joined the AFNT team in 2021, she is originally from WA but she moved to the Territory after taking a short (9 week) contract in Katherine in 2009 and never went home.

As a nurse for almost 30 years, she has worked in a variety of roles within the hospital system, then around 10 years in aged care and the last 8 years working as a chronic disease nurse/diabetes educator in private practice.

Sharron is very familiar with the needs of Asthma/COPD clients and is loving the challenges that the role brings.

She is now responsible for delivering the Asthma Aware & Anaphylaxis training to schools and workplaces across the Northern Territory.

AFNT acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we meet and conduct our services, respecting language and culture and elders past and present.
