Anaphylaxis and Emergency Management

Anaphylaxis and Emergency Management is designed to educate all school staff on how to identify and treat allergy & severe allergy (anaphylaxis) in NT Schools. The program is aimed to increase a school staffs confidence & knowledge in supporting students with allergy &/or anaphylaxis and to provide a safe environment for those students with in NT schools.

  • Signs & symptoms of mild/moderate & severe allergy
  • Signs & symptoms of anaphylaxis
  • What is an allergen?
  • Treatment of mild to moderate allergic reactions
  • Emergency treatment for anaphylaxis
  • Knowledge of how to use a adrenaline auto-injector
  • Knowledge of ASCIA Action Plan
  • Allergy & Anaphylaxis Policies and Guidelines in accordance to the NT Department of Education
  • Duty of Care

All school staff are recommended to attend the program.
