Asthma Aware, Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management

Asthma Aware & Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management in NT Schools is designed to teach all school staff to identify asthma, allergies and anaphylaxis. The program is aimed to increase attendees confidence & knowledge in supporting people with asthma, allergy &/or anaphylaxis and to provide a safe environment

The training is valid for 2 years* and entitles the school / childcare to display the Asthma Aware sticker on their door and the Asthma Aware logo on their website as long as they meet the essential criteria

  • Signs & symptoms of mild/moderate & severe allergy

  • Treatment of mild/moderate & life threatening asthma
  • Treatment of mild to moderate allergic reactions
  • Emergency treatment for anaphylaxis
  • Knowledge on how to use a puffer & spacer
  • Knowledge of how to use a adrenaline auto-injector
  • Knowledge of an Asthma Action Plan
  • Knowledge of an ASCIA Action Plan
  • Asthma, Allergy & Anaphylaxis Policies and Guidelines in accordance to the NT Department of Education
  • Duty of Care

All school staff are recommended to attend the program.
