Flu season 2022 its a doozy!

According to the NT news (May 23) young Australians (age 15-24) and kids (younger than 10 years) are dominating flu cases with more than 7000 notifications in just two weeks. Young Australians are emerging as the most at risk group as the whole country sees an early start to the flu season. National disease surveillance data has revealed 10,599 cases have been reported this year with 7173 in the two weeks prior to May 8th and this has been steadily rising across the Territory. AFNT are excited to announce we will be resuming our spirometry testing starting Monday 23rd of May 🀩 To maintain a healthy and safe environment for our clients and staff while resuming our service please note and comply to these changes: βœ… Limiting people attending the appointment. βœ… Masks (surgical) must be worn during your appointment - you can bring your own, if not AFNT can provide you with one. βœ… Have had your COVID vaccination (2x doses) and show proof of vaccination upon entry to your appointment. βœ… If you have your own spacer, it is recommended to bring it with you to your appointment. New fee structures since 1st January 2022: πŸ”Ή $30 initial consult fee (includes 12mth membership with AFNT) πŸ”Ή $20 for follow-up appointments πŸ”Ή Seniors/concession card holders receive 10% discount ‼️ Booking is essential, GP referral is not needed to make an appointment but is recommended. Using your inhalers correctly (with a spacer) will help close the gap in asthma care by improving lung function, reducing asthma flare-ups, improving the effectiveness of medication allowing it to get to the lungs which can reduce oral side effects, stopping medication getting into the mouth, throat and stomach.
