Munn Family Asthma Story

We have been dealing with the Asthma Foundation since 2004 when our oldest Cameron was diagnosed with asthma and we were introduced to the asthma foundation and the swim program which became part of our lives as we attended swim lessons every Saturday for 11 years, we received so much support at these lessons not only from the asthma educators but the fellow parents.

Over following years my two other children Jessica and Ashton were both diagnosed with asthma.

At six months old Ashton had a bad attack and as we were close to the Asthma Foundation I went there as it was all new for me dealing with a tiny baby having an asthma attack. The educator there Anne performed Asthma first aid on him and after this we managed to take video of him, this footage was used later for training purposes.

I joined the Asthma NT board in 2011 and became Vice-President in 2014. I learnt even more about Asthma and the running of an amazing organisation. The knowledge and support the board members gave was invaluable. But the BEST asset that Asthma NT have is the staff.

Our family is forever grateful for EVERYTHING over the last 15 years.

And as it turns out I was diagnosed with Asthma after a spirometry test in 2013 (go figure!)

This year Cameron is 17, Jessica 14 and Ashton 10 and with the ongoing help and support over the years from asthma foundation all three are all well managed and educated.
